Bride to Be Ribbon Badge

One of my closest friends is getting married soon, so with the bachelorette “party” date nearing I headed to Michaels. Next to the wedding section they have a small Bridal Shower/Bachelorette Party section with silly things for the bride to wear. Like tiaras, veils, sashes, etc. The problem is that they are all ugly and/or tacky, and I couldn’t imagine my friend wearing any of them willingly. So I made my own.
I went through my craft stuff and found a length of black lace trim (not sure what it was for) and some pink and black ribbons. I had recently read through a tutorial for making cockade, but the pinning to a cork board technique didn’t work so well for me.
I used a small black circle as a base and pinned and sewed to that. Once I was done I decided to letterpress print the center “bride to be” badge. A little more sewing and gluing and voila! I think it came out great and my friend loved it.
We went on a Wine Tour in Long Island and saw several other bachelorette parties. From what they were forced to wear I can only imagine their friends must hate them, and my friend said she caught many of the other bride-to-be looking at her Ribbon Badge jealously.
I think I’m going to offer some of these on etsy..eventually!
